My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A wonderful book series for children, with a whimsical character called Little Miss History. Journey with Little Miss History, a character based on a younger version of of the Author, to places she has actually visited. The Author has married her loves for history and education in hopes that her readers will be able to visit the locations themselves. Her love of travel is a very inherent part of my of her books. Barbara visits the sites and takes pictures for her books. Enjoy all 14 books in the series.
Stone ColdStone Cold by Sarah Humpherys
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved it from start to finish. It’s a tangled tale with a surpise ending.
Sarah’s descriptions make me feel like I’m there & put me in touch with my senses.

Recommending this read and hoping there’s a book 2.
Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop DetectivesPignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives by Rick Bleiweiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I began reading this and finished by listening to it on audible. Christopher Toyne’s voice was a delicious compliment to Rick Bleiweiss’ new historical fiction murder mystery novel. The tale and it’s characters are very engaging and I’m happy to learn there is a 2nd book on it’s way. Pignon Scorbion definitely one of a kind and sophisticated. Love the era and that the author honoured the dialouge of that time.

Where Truth Goes to DieWhere Truth Goes to Die by Faith Wood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“Meet Decklin Kilgarry, a newly separated, retired DC Detective. Kilgarry takes us on an adventure to Ireland. I’ll never look a trawler the same way again. I have a new found respect for the hard working individuals that are the fishing industry. The setting, the lovely port town of Cobh pronounced “Cove”. By the end, all of Cobh knows the name, Decklin Kilgarry. Author Faith Wood always leaves a lasting impression. Love this new character and looking forward to more of this series.” – Jennifer L Palmer Founder of Online For Authors

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love how Talena bought Zale’s emotions into physical as she wrote of a young boy coming of age and learning who he is. She shares with us Zale’s journey of self discovery. I’m drawn to her writing style. This is the first of Talena’s writing that I experienced and it definitely made me want to read more. Talena’s books are a joy to read. I enjoyed this novella. The Undine's Tear (Rise of the Grigori, #1)The Undine’s Tear by Talena Winters
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read The Waterboy, a novella prior to reading The Undine’s Tear.

Drawn to Talena’s writing I was not disappointed by The Undine’s Tear. I appreciate the time and energy that Talena took with the setting, building up the story with background, as well as character development. I appreciate the depth in her fiction. I’m emotionally connected to her characters. Her characters feel real to me and I want to know what their journeys continue to be.

The Parallels (The Sehnsucht Series Book 1)The Parallels by Keyla Damaer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Keyla has built a Futuristic world I was able to escape into. At times though I was glad to not actually live there. Her 3 main characters are well developed with individual conflicts in worlds of multiple alien races and augmented humans. The 3 main characters that I could relate to, each soul searching with their individual adventures yet their lives entwined, hence “The Parallels”. It’s fantastic how she’s created conflict for 3 main characters and tied it all together. Here you’ll enjoy strong female characters, morally challenged with personal and futuristic worldly conflicts, on topics of racism, careerism, elements of science -medical advancement, new discoveries, politics, ambition, love and parenting. I’m looking forward to the prequel and sequel in this “The Sehnsucht Series”.

Never Part of the Plan: A story of Courage Resilience GratitudeNever Part of the Plan: A story of Courage Resilience Gratitude by Mike Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dec 16, 2013 changed Mike’s life forever, he is very inspirational and his personal journey is a story of resilience and remarkable recovery. What does it take to thrive in the face of adversity? I love how he shares that “You have to fall, if you are not falling you are not trying.” “If you don’t crash and pick yourself back up … to try it again, you will not learn.” His story helped me learn about progressing by failing forward and developing a push it to the edge mindset. You’ll find tools to apply to help you with adversity. Learn the 4 pillars of mindset and about becoming exceptional at overcoming. You won’t believe what Mike has been through and the humour he finds through it all.
Crisis Point (Brad Coulter #1)Crisis Point by Dwayne Clayden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Crisis Point is the first book in the series of 5 (by April 2021) and the book that made me fall in love with Brad Coulter. Dwayne had me wanting more and more of Brad. There is depth, resolve and that “you can’t keep a good man down” persona that makes Brad a local hero. He’s humble and would rather not have the notoriety. You can not help but love him. I love that it is set in Calgary, AB. Canada. As I’m reading the familiarity of the landmarks connects me even more to the story. The Brad Coulter Series is one you’ll want to share with all your family and friends.

Dark Visions (Sarah Roberts, #1)Dark Visions by Jonas Saul
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sarah Roberts is an extraordinary character. Dark Visions was an unpredictable adventure. Jonas has created an amazing being with Sarah and an enthralling story. The other characters are also very intriguing. Nothing dull about it. I also loved the narrator of the audible B.J. Harrison. So much variety, it has me wondering what could possibly happen in book 2. Looking forward to more of Sarah Roberts.
